We’re aware of difficulties being faced by families who used the estate planning services of The Will Writing Company who ceased trading in 2018. At that time Philips Trust Corporation purchased the assets and database of The Will Writing Company and The Family Trust Corporation. In April 2022 Philips Trust Corporation entered administration, with Kroll Advisory Limited appointed as their administrators.

We want to reassure any members impacted that we are still here to offer help and support where we can, should they need it. If you have been impacted and would like to speak to us, please call 0345 601 3344.

The Will Writing Company currently holds my Will, how can I retrieve this?

You can arrange the return of your Will by contacting the storage company, Deedbank. We recommend emailing them using storage@deedbank.co.uk or telephoning them on 0330 555 7555 between the hours of 10am and 4pm (Monday to Friday).

There will be a charge made for the retrieval and secure postage of the documents. These costs will vary by document and will need to be paid direct to the storage company.

I have a property trust, what happens next?

Kroll Advisory Limited, who have been appointed as administrators, will engage with members and members should be alert to all communications received.

We have identified and contacted a small number of customers with property trusts to offer help and support. If you haven’t received any communications and would like support, please speak with us on 0345 601 3344.

How do I make a complaint?

If you wish to make a complaint against The Will Writing Company, you may wish to refer it to the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority (SRA) Compensation Fund, who can sometimes help an individual where an SRA regulated firm fails to finish work for which they have been paid.
